1983 Mercedes Benz W123 Series 240 Diesel, with four speed manual transmission.
Traded into us, and is good fun to drive, providing, to quote a Clint Eastwood film, you go as slow as mollasses in wintertime. You could pretend that you're driving a Beruit Taxi as it's the correct colour and specification with the normally aspirated diesel engine and wind up (remember them?) windows.
The OM616 I4 2.4 Liter diesel runs and runs. just keep on changing the oil and filter. You won't be setting any land speed records with 71 BHP but the joys of changing gear, timing the gear change to get the most out of the old girl in traffic, it's like going back to old school. Top speed is 140 km/h, but you'll need a long straight to see that, and zero to 100 km/h in a stately 22 seconds. All of the controls are familiar, the dashboard intact and not cracked and it even has the original first aid kit! Yellow front fog/driving lamps add to the aesthetic and you can tune in to your favourite radio station with the period correct Becker Mexico.
It has brand new tires, and starts, runs and drives nicely. Rock Auto sells parts for cheap and each year, you can budget to do a little preventative mechanical maintainance to keep her on the road for another 40 plus years.
Due to age and km, we're selling as is but this is a cost effective opportunity to get into a respected classic.
