1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible Divorce Special

As Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan (what happened to him?) once sung..."Especially For You"....and that is how we feel regarding our 1995 Jaguar XJS 4 Liter Convertible, as you would need to be a little special to buy this, but we want you to buy it because we have 5 Jaguars, four are XJS's and they're in the way, so this green monstrosity is especially for you. Why the divorce special? Bring this Jaguar home and you'll be done in under a year.

We bought it as a spares vehicle a good while agao, and then, Adam being Adam, decided to buy two more spares vehicles, so we have one lovely 1996 Jaguar XJS 4 Liter Convertible...that does not need any spares, and we have three further spare Jaguar XJS's and they all need to go.

Buy all three spares vehicles, and you could get two of them on the road. Or you could get one on the road, or you could part them all out and become a millionaire. Some of these parts are rare these days, and plenty of folks are always hunting for spares to keep their money pits alive.

On to this one, we couldn't get the old girl to run properly, and these engines are usually bullet proof and give equal performance to the 5.3 V12, although the six litter can still show it a clean pair of heels. We had fuel pump put in, filters, tank clean etc but to no avail. It will fire first time and run for three or four seconds then shutdown, so we think, with our limited mechanical ability, that the issue may be immobiliser related.

The bonnet stands proud without collapsing, so the struts are good. The same cannot be said of the rear which we are led to believe was a temporary crack stash area. It has chromed XJS wheels, but they are pitted and rotors look like they're toast.

The electric seats and electric front windows work at the time of writing, but, we connected a module and the roof, which worked a year ago does not now want to work. You can hear the pump whirring. It could be that the motor needs replacing, or something simple like the hand brake sensor adjusting. The rear windows poered down and that is where they currently stay.

Some of the laquer is peeling off the wood veneer, the rear view mirror has fallen down and the paint work is flat with laquer peel in places. The convertible top and back window are in good condition with no tears.

Most things seem to work, brakes, blower, horn, indicators, lights.

You'll need a trailer to come and pick her up, or we can organise delivery anywhere in Canada at your cost.
